Hosting and network infrastructure engineering
We operate our own hosting company, LNVPS, on our own hardware and our own autonomous system. The tooling we wrote to run it is what we bring to infrastructure work for clients.
LNVPS runs on Proxmox hosts on AS214973, the autonomous system we operate. The control plane is our own Rust code: it provisions and resizes VMs, pins ARP entries on the routers against spoofing, publishes forward and reverse DNS, manages BGP sessions and tunnels, and applies per-VM firewall rules on the host.
Hosting attracts abuse, so every host also runs an XDP eBPF SYN-flood rate limiter we wrote, shipped as a package that upgrades itself. Metrics for every VM come from Proxmox, network health goes to Prometheus, and it is all on a Grafana dashboard.
Our own services run on kubeadm Kubernetes clusters with Calico networking and Ceph storage, with a custom operator that manages ingress for customer domains.
Virtualisation
Proxmox and KVM clusters, templates and cloud-init, and VM migration between sites with minimal downtime.
Networking
BGP on RouterOS and BIRD, GRE, VXLAN and WireGuard tunnels, IPv4 and IPv6 address management.
Kubernetes
kubeadm clusters, Calico, Ceph CSI storage and custom operators.
Security
XDP and eBPF packet filtering, per-VM firewalls and encryption of sensitive data at rest.
Observability
Per-VM metrics, network health checks in Prometheus, and Grafana dashboards.
Automation
API-driven provisioning, DNS through Cloudflare, and router configuration from code.
- Can you build a hosting platform like LNVPS for us?
- Yes. The LNVPS code is open source and supports more than one company on the same install, so it can be the starting point for your own.
- Can you help with an existing Proxmox or Kubernetes setup?
- Yes. Migrations between sites, storage and network design, automation, and finding out why something is slow or falling over.
- Do you work with physical networks as well as cloud?
- Yes. We run our own routers, BGP sessions and IP space, so we work at the level of cables and prefixes as well as VMs.
